Architecture

• The content in four languages is kept as structured data, from which a purpose-built generator assembles static pages. No application, database or content management system runs on the server.
• No framework and no third-party libraries, only the site’s own styles and its own script.
• Every build checks that all four languages share the same structure, that text contrast meets WCAG AA and that no internal link is broken. If anything does not match, the build fails.

No third-party services

• Fonts, photographs, videos and scripts are loaded only from this domain. The site uses no cookies, no analytics scripts and no embedded content from other services, so no third-party service tracks the visit.
• The content rules (Content Security Policy) allow the browser to load only the site’s own files.

Speed

• Photographs are sent at a size that suits the screen and in the AVIF format, roughly half the size of a JPEG.
• Videos load only on larger screens, and only when the visitor scrolls close to them. With data saving or reduced motion turned on, they do not load at all.
• Browsers that support it prepare the page you are about to open in advance, and moving between pages is smooth, without a flash.

Design

• Headings are set in Source Serif 4 and text in Inter. Both typefaces are openly licensed, cover Latin and Cyrillic and are loaded from this website.
• The palette is a cool black with a single gold accent. Gold marks what is currently active or selected.
• The map, diagrams and icons are drawn from geometry directly in the page rather than as image files, so they stay sharp on high-resolution displays. The national borders on the map come from the freely available Natural Earth data.
• The photographs of Bratislava (Lukáš Kulla, Unsplash) and River Park (Vlastimil Starec, Pexels) and the founder’s portrait are real. The images of the awards come from the archive of BIOELEKTRA SE. All other images and videos are illustrations.

Readability

• Text and background colours have a contrast of at least 4.5:1 (WCAG AA). Lines of text have a limited length that does not grow on a wide screen.
• Headings, labels and buttons are not set in all capitals. Figures in data and years are tabular, all of the same width.
• Dashes and year ranges follow the rules of each language. A dash never starts a line, and a range of years is never split across two lines. One-letter words never end a line.
• Sections that change their content on their own keep it on screen for as long as it takes to read, and pause under the cursor.

Accessibility and print

• All content is available without JavaScript too, and every photograph has a text description. If the visitor’s system is set to reduce motion, animations are switched off.
• Printed, every page comes out on white paper with the company letterhead, without the navigation and without photographs, except for the founder’s portrait.
• The QR code on the Contact page holds the group’s contact itself, not a link, so a phone saves it without opening any address. It shows on a computer and in print, not on a phone, which cannot scan its own screen.

Verifiability

• Every morning an automated check compares all the site’s files, headers, redirects and DNS records with the last verified state and checks the certificates, encryption and e-mail security. It reports any deviation by e-mail.
• The security.txt file is signed with the group’s PGP key and can be verified with its public key.
• For search engines, every page carries structured data (schema.org), the sitemap gives the dates of changes, and changes are announced to search engines right after each upload (IndexNow).
